  Reinstate Professor Abdulkader Sinno and Restore Palestinian painter, Samia Halaby's exhibit

  Recently, Carrie Docherty suspended tenured professor Abdulkader Sinno, which contravenes IU policy. This suspension purportedly stemmed from a minor oversight in submitting an event for the Palestine Solidarity Committee. The IU administration overlooks the fact that this incident was more about Professor Sinno's advocacy than a mere mistake. Additionally, IU administration canceled an exhibit by a Palestinian artist, Samia Halaby, due to her pro-Palestine social media posts. Once again, IU demonstrates a disregard for equality and consistently employs its authority to intimidate students, staff, and faculty. We demand the reinstatement of Professor Sinno and that artist Samia Halaby's exhibit be at IU Bloomington.

  All Disciplinary Actions and Charges for Protestors be Dropped

  We demand that IU drop all disciplinary actions and legal charges against protestors who were exercising their First Amendment right. Protestors at the IU Bloomington campus were subjected to bans ranging from one to five years for engaging in a peaceful demonstration. The IU administration involved the Indiana State Police and pressed trespassing charges against these individuals. We demand the immediate dismissal of these charges.

  Adherence to Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS)

  The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement is an initiative led by Palestinians, aiming to advocate for freedom, justice, and equality. BDS adheres to the fundamental principle that Palestinians should receive the same rights as all members of the global community. We believe IU must adhere to the BDS movement and comply with all requirements.

  Muslim and Middle Eastern Cultural Center

  We demand that IU establishes a Muslim and Middle Eastern Cultural Center for students at IUPUI. This center would offer a sanctuary where students can experience a sense of inclusion and security. Given the prevalence of Islamophobia and anti-Arab sentiments on IUPUI campus from administration, students, and outside agitators; the creation of this center would guarantee a safe space for those of Muslim and Middle Eastern identities.

  Resignation of Pamela Whitten, Rahul Shrivastav, and Carrie Docherty

  Pamela Whitten, Rahul Shrivastav, and Carrie Docherty must immediately resign from Indiana University. Pamela, Rahul, and Carrie are complicit in the genocide and have endangered student safety by involving Indiana State Police and snipers against students exercising their first amendment right. They refuse to provide protection for students of Arab and Palestinian descent. The amount of discrimination and hate these three have enforced, the students are demanding they resign immediately.

Action Items

Take Action and Demand IU Drop Targeted Conduct Charges

AFTER 57 CHARGES WERE DROPPED, IU IMMEDITATELY ISSUED CONDUCT CHARGES AGAINST STUDENTS. AFTER FAILING TO CRIMINALIZE THOSE WHO ACT AGAINST THEIR INVESTMENTS IN GENOCIDE, INDIANA UNIVERSITY IS NOW TARGETING STUDENTS BY OTHER MEANS. MANY STUDENTS HAVE BEEN ISSUED DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS FOR ALLEGEDLY ATTENDING PROTESTS THAT HAPPENED MONTHS AGO, MANY OF WHICH THESE STUDENTS WEREN'T EVEN IN ATTENDANCE. IU CONTINUES TO TARGET STUDENTS OF COLOR, AND PRO-PALESTINIAN STUDENTS FOR STANDING WITH GAZA.
